Pope Francis met with the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors, an organization he created in 2014 to advise him on issues of sexual abuse. The commission is dedicated to raising awareness about preventing abuse and addressing it.
Your observations will keep us moving in the right direction, so that the Church will continue to be fully committed to the prevention of abuse, its firm condemnation, compassionate care for victims and an ongoing effort to be a hospitable and safe place.
Commission members also include abuse victims. In his speech, Pope Francis thanked the organization for their work in “rebuilding the fabric of shattered lives and healing the pain” caused by abuses.
