At 87 years old, Pope Francis has no intention of slowing his travels down. Although he canceled his visit to Dubai in November last year for health reasons, this year, he will travel to Belgium. Although not yet confirmed, his plans also include Polynesia and his homeland, Argentina.

On the national level, the Pope will continue to make pastoral visits within Italy. He will go to Verona on May 18, Trieste on July 7 and, he's now added Venice on April 28.

The purpose for his trip to Venice will be to visit a pavilion hosted by the Holy See at the 'Venice Biennial'—one of the most famous contemporary art exhibitions in the world.

The Vatican announced a few days ago that this pavilion will be dedicated to promoting human rights and, specifically, to those who are marginalized.

Pope Francis will also visit a prison for women, where he will participate in the project, 'With my eyes.' It is an artistic initiative that follows the words of the Pope, inviting participants to look towards the peripheries.

Although the official agenda has not yet been confirmed, it has been reported that the Pope will meet with people from the Patriarchate of Venice.

With this visit, Francis will be the fourth pope to travel to the city of canals after Paul VI, John Paul II and Benedict XVI.
