Pope Francis welcomed the Argentinean pilgrims who traveled to Rome for the canonization of their country's first female saint, Mama Antula.
During their meeting, the Pope reminded them of the spirit of charity that moved the saint.
POPE FRANCIS
Mama Antula's charity, especially in the service of the most needy, is today imposing itself with great force in the midst of a society that runs the risk of forgetting that radical individualism is the most difficult virus to overcome.
Mama Antula promoted the Ignatian spirituality in Argentina. The Pope said these evangelization efforts changed the lives of many families.
Her canonization will take place on February 11 at St. Peter's Basilica.
