Pope Francis started the month of November by meeting with 6,000 children of 84 different nationalities. It was a musical meeting full of curious questions from the children.
But when you get angry, how do you calm yourself down?
POPE FRANCIS
But I don't bite, you know? I don't bite. How do we calm down? Once, somebody who helped me so much in life, when I was a child, told me: when you are angry, before you respond, drink a glass of water. That's good advice.
A few days later, in the same room, the Pope welcomed more than a thousand people in need to have lunch with him. They were celebrating the 7th World Day of the Poor.
POPE FRANCIS
Let us pray together to the Lord that he bless us, bless the meals and bless this time of fellowship all together and acompany us in life.
In the middle of the month, Pope Francis had a visit that garnered attention. He met with a group of Palestinians whose relatives are suffering from the attacks in Gaza and another group of Israelis whose relatives were kidnapped by Hamas.
Thank you very much Your Holiness. This is my family. All kidnapped. May I give you a hug on behalf of my mother? Thank you very much.
During the final days of the month, the Pope's health was once again the focus of the Vatican. He suspended his official audiences due to a “slight flu-like condition.” And during the Sunday Angelus, he said he had an “inflammation in his lungs.” This sudden sickness led him to cancel his participation in the COP28 Climate Conference in Dubai. In his place, he sent Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
