The trip he had planned to make was brief but physically demanding. The Pope was scheduled to speak to the participants of the COP28 Climate Conference. There, he had planned some thirty private bilateral meetings in a single day.
Although his flu-like symptoms and lung inflammation seemed to have subsided, the Pope needs more time to recover. He had already resumed part of his typically full and demanding schedule.
