The Holy See Press Office said Pope Francis' current health condition is “good and stationary” and that his breathing is clearly improving. This news comes after the Pope suspended his audiences this weekend and went to the hospital for flu-like symptoms.
According to the Holy See's press statement, Pope Francis underwent a CT scan that ruled out pneumonia but did show lung inflammation that could be a cause of his breathing difficulties. For this, he was given antibiotics through an IV.
To facilitate the Pope's full recovery, some of his audiences and engagements in the coming days have been cancelled or postponed. But the Pope will still continue with some meetings, such as this one with the President of Paraguay.
