In the morning, Pope Francis did not read a speech, saying he was not in good health, although he did not suspend the eight audiences he had scheduled for that day.
In the afternoon, he participated in a special meeting with more than 6,000 children from all around the world. At the end, he spent a lot of time on greetings like this one. But despite his intense agenda for the day, the Pope still had some strength left.
He made a surprise appearance at the train station inside the Vatican and this was the reaction of the little ones.
Seated in his wheelchair, Pope Francis wanted to personally say goodbye to several groups of children who had participated in the meeting. He greeted each of them and blessed their caps.
Like a grandfather with his grandchildren, Pope Francis waited for the train to depart before saying goodbye from the platform. And so the Pope's day came to an end. A farewell that, without a doubt, the little ones will never forget.
