During the Angelus, Pope Francis renewed his call for an end to the violence in Gaza.
POPE FRANCIS
Please stop, in the name of God: ceasefire! I hope that all avenues will be pursued to avoid a continuation of the conflict so the wounded can be rescued and aid can reach the people of Gaza, where the humanitarian situation is very serious.
The Pope expressed his deep concern and sorrow for children living in war.
POPE FRANCIS
Let the hostages be freed immediately. Among them are also many children, let them return to their families! Yes, let us think about the children, all the children involved in this war, as well as in Ukraine and other conflicts: this is how you are killing their future. Let us pray for the strength to say "enough."
Pope Francis also mentioned the victims of the earthquake that shook Nepal and asked for help for the Afghan refugees in Pakistan. There are almost 2 million Afghans fleeing the Taliban and the poor living conditions in their country. But they are being pushed out by the local government in Pakistan.
