The closing Mass of the Synod on Synodality was an appeal to conversion by Pope Francis.
He pointed out that the Church must recover the sense of adoration and silent prayer and urged the audience members to focus on loving their neighbors.
POPE FRANCIS
Maybe we really have a lot of good ideas to reform the Church, but let's remember: to worship God and to love brothers and sisters with His love, this is the great and everlasting reform.
The Pope emphasized the importance of being a Church that serves all people and avoiding behavior that imitates the style of the Pharisees of the Gospel.
POPE FRANCIS
This is the Church we are called to dream of: a Church that is a servant of all, a servant of the least. A Church that never demands a report card of "good behavior," but welcomes, serves, loves. A Church with open doors that is a port of mercy.
Pope Francis presided at the Mass and Cardinal Mario Grech was the main celebrant. It marked the end of the synodal assembly until its next and final meeting in October 2024.
