In his 10 years as pope, Francis has made 44 international trips. In an interview with the Argentinean news agency, Télam, the Pope revealed that he has no intention of slowing down, despite his age and the fact that he has been using a wheelchair for some time.
Nevertheless, he confirmed his desire to visit Argentina. The Pope said that he had also considered taking advantage of the trip to his homeland then go to New Zealand and Australia, but it seems he has ruled out that possibility.
One thing he clearly said is that he wants to travel to Papua New Guinea, the Southeast Asian country of almost 10 million people where Catholics make up 26%. The closest Pope Francis has been was in 2015 when he visited Sri Lanka and the Philippines. Pope John Paul II visited the country twice, but the last time was almost 30 years ago, in 1995.
