After the ecumenical vigil, the participants of the Synod moved to the town of Sacrofano, near Rome, to partake in a spiritual retreat before the assembly begins.
The goal of this retreat is for each participant to prepare themselves interiorly for this worldwide event. Fr. Timothy Radcliffe and Benedictine Mother Angelini led the opening messages for the retreat.
