Pope Francis kicked off the morning of the General Audience drinking this Argentine mate, during his tour in St. Peter's Square.
He then opened his last audience of the month of September. During his speech, he recalled his recent trip to Marseille, on the occasion of the “Mediterranean Meetings,” where the migration crisis and human trafficking were a topic of discussion.

The Mediterranean, we know, is a cradle of civilization and a cradle for life. It is not tolerable that it should become a tomb, nor a place of conflict.
The Pope called for the Mediterranean to recover its vocation as a point of union between different cultures, as it was centuries ago, when it was a “mosaic of hope.” He said that the Gospel was spread throughout the sea.
While greeting the pilgrims from the Czech Republic, the Pope extended a speical thank you to the youth choir who sang during the audience.
