Before leaving the Archbishop's residence on his second day in Marseille, Pope Francis held a meeting with various organizations dedicated to helping and rescuing migrants in the Mediterranean region.
This is a life jacket that was in use until very recently.
One man gave the Pope a child's life jacket.
Good morning. Thank you very much for your help.
-Thank you.
Thank you very much.
During the meeting, Pope Francis recommended a book called Hermanito or Little Brother, which recounts the struggles of migration.
Following this private audience, the Pope traveled to the House of the Misisonaries of Charity in Saint Mauront.
There, he met with a group of people facing economic difficulties. During his message to them, the Pope stressed the importance of lending a helping hand to those in need, calling it a gesture of brotherhood. He also challenged everyone to live in fraternity—no matter their beliefs.
I am from the right and I am from the left; politically, I am like this. I am of this faith; I am of that other faith. But everybody is a brother. And this is important.
Pope Francis praised the work of the Missionaries of Charity, and their goal of helping everyone live this fraternity.
