Pope Francis has been closely monitoring the recent natural disasters in Libya and Morocco.

I invite you to join my prayer for those who have lost their lives, for their families, for those displaced. Please do not fail to show our solidarity with these brothers and sisters sorely tested by this disaster.
My thoughts are with the noble people, the Moroccans, who suffered these shifts in the earth, these earthquakes. We pray for the Moroccans; we pray for its inhabitants. May the Lord give them the strength to recover, to recover after this terrible event.
During his General Audience, the Pope once again reflected on exemplary figures of evangelization, this time specifically looking at the life of Venezuelan doctor, Blessed José Gregorio Hernández. He was committed to helping those most in need and, in fact, that is how he died.

That morning, as usual, he had been to Mass and went down the street to bring medicine to a sick person. But as he was crossing the road, he was hit by a vehicle. He was taken to the hospital and he died saying Our Lady's name. His earthly journey ended on a road while performing a work of mercy, and in a hospital, where he had made his work, a masterpiece as a doctor.
For the past few weeks, the General Audiences have been held in St. Peter's Square and pilgrims from all over the world have brought a touch of color to the Vatican.
