Cardinal Konrad Krajewski announced that two trucks with 300,000 portions of freeze-dried broth arrived in Rome. This aid was donated by a large Korean company to help the people of Ukraine.
Residents of the Dormitory of Pope Francis—a shelter for the homeless in Rome—helped unload the packages. The trucks then brought them to the Greek Catholic Parish of Santa Sophia in Rome to be sent to Ukraine.
Cardinal Krajewski says this is the lastest part of the Vatican humanitarian initiative. There have been 106 trucks sent with aid to Ukraine since the conflict began in February 2022. The Cardinal himself has traveled to the country on several occasions with ambulances and other supplies.
This is not the only new initiative. The Papal Almoner explains the goal is to open a home in Lviv for war widows and mothers with their children in the near future.
