A few days ago, Pope Francis announced that he was writing a second part of Laudato Si'. But at the last General Audience in August, he revealed that the letter will be published on October 4.
POPE FRANCIS On that date, my intention is to publish an exhoration, a second Laudato Si'.
As Pope Francis explained, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation will be celebrated from September 1 and will conclude on October 4, coinciding with the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the beginning of the Synod of Synodality and the publication of this magisterial document.
Continuing his weekly catechesis on evangelization, the Pope highlighted the figure of Kateri Tekakwitha, the first indigenous woman from North America to be canonized. For this reason, Pope Francis stressed that every person is called to be a saint.
POPE FRANCIS Let us not forget that every one of us is called to holiness, to everyday holiness, to the holiness of the common Christian life. Every one of us has this call. Let us go forward on this path, and the Lord will not fail us.
The Pope emphasized that, like Kateri, we all have to overcome problems with patience—a hallmark of the Christian life.
POPE FRANCIS Patience is a great Christian virtue. He who has no patience is not a good Christian. Patience to tolerate, tolerate dificulties, but also to tolerate others that from time to time are boring or create difficulties for you.
Before concluding the Audience, Pope Francis greeted groups from different countries in various languages, including Polish pilgrims awaiting the beatification of the Ulma family, who sacrificed their lives to protect Jews from the Nazis.
The Pope also asked for prayers for his trip to Mongolia, where he will travel from August 31 to September 4.
