Pope Francis met once again with the President of Hungary, Katalin Novák.
This most recent meeting fell under the context of the Vatican's peace mission to Ukraine. As President Novák recently traveled to the country and met with Ukrainian President Zelensky, her conversation with Pope Francis included the discussion of efforts to end the war.
The two exchanged gifts, which included a box of Hungarian-made items including wines to be used at Mass. The gifts also featured an album of photos from the Pope's trip to Hungary a few months ago.
In a copy of the album, Pope Francis wrote a personal note, thanking the Hungarian President and her country for its message of peace in a war-wounded Europe.
After saying goodbye to Pope Francis, President Novák continued her diplomatic meetings with the Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
