Pope Francis arrived in Fatima on Saturday morning. He flew from Lisbon on a military helicopter.
Before going to pray before the image of Our Lady of Fatima, he took time to greet the faithful from the popemobile. There was strong emotion among many of the pilgrims. The Pope prayed silently before Our Lady and then left a golden rosary as a gift.
This is his second visit to the shrine of Fatima. The first one was in 2017.
