-Grandma Maria da Conceição.

-Maria da Conceição.

-She has wanted to meet a young pope, 20 years younger than her.

Maria's dream was to meet a pope. And at the age of 106, this elderly Portuguese woman was able to meet Pope Francis. Interestingly, she was born on the day of the Fatima apparitions, May 13, 1917.

After meeting with Maria, the Pope greeted Edna, a 17-year-old girl with a serious illness.

At the end of June, she wrote a letter to the Pope telling him that she would not be able to go to WYD because she would pass away before the event.

Pope Francis replied with a very special video message.

POPE FRANCIS
Edna, I received your letter. Thank you. Thank you for your gentleness and thank you for the peace you have in your heart. This peace is like a seed that is sown in the hearts of all those who see you and all those who talk to you. Thank you.

Before leaving the Apostolic Nunciature to begin his official agenda for the day, the Pope greeted those waiting for him at the door. He stopped to bless some children prior to getting into the car.

At Piazza dell'Imperio, the Pope changed his plans once again. The papal chair, with the Pope's coat of arms, had been prepared for him.

However, Pope Francis decided to use an ordinary chair to hear confessions like any other priest.

In this confessional made by prisoners, the Pope heard the confessions of three young men: Francisco, a 21-year-old Spaniard; Yesvi, a 33-year-old Guatemalan; and Samuel, a 19-year-old Italian.
