Hundreds of thousands of people packed into the streets of Lisbon as Pope Francis rode up to Edward VII Park for the welcome ceremony.
Flags from around the world flew as the popemobile passed through the large crowds. This welcome ceremony is the first large-scale event with the Pope present for World Youth Day.
