An interactive park equipped with chroma screens and virtual reality was installed in the center of Lisbon to help promote faith among the hundreds of thousands of young people attending World Youth Day. The park, named Cristonautas, will function as an open-air concert venue, theater and cinema.

Cristonautas also offers the opportunity for all World Youth Day pilgrims to have an interactive virtual experience of traveling to holy sites around the world such as Nazareth.

The park was inaugurated with a procession in honor of St. Anthony and with the blessing of the Honduran Cardinal Óscar Rodríguez Maradiaga.

A full schedule of activities will take place at the park until Friday, August 4. For four days, young people will attend concerts and conferences, including one led by Maupal, the urban artist known for his graffiti on Pope Francis.

Movies will also be screened at Cristonautas park throughout the week. Even Rome Reports' own documentary, “Francis! The Pope of Surprises” will show on both Wednesday and Friday.

All World Youth Day events can be followed on its social media. This way, whether in Lisbon or anywhere in the world, all young people can be a part of World Youth Day.
