What does the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life do? A new podcast series seeks to answer this question. The first episode sounds like this:
The series was launched by the Dicastery on the third annual World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly. The message of the first episode echoes the words of Pope Francis during Sunday's Angelus.
POPE FRANCIS
May the proximity between the two days be an invitation to foster a much-needed alliance between generations, because the future is built together, by sharing experiences and mutual care between the young and the old.
Let us not forget about them. And let's applaud all grandfathers and grandmothers!
The Pope has often insisted on this intergenerational bond.
POPE FRANCIS
Today I want to tell you that the elderly are also the present and the future of the Church. Yes, they are also the future of a Church that, together with the young, prophesies and dreams.
The upcoming episodes of the podcast will be published from September to December and will tell stories related to family, life and ecclesial movements. The project, carried out with the collaboration of Vatican News, seeks to address the “women and men of our time.”
