35 million pilgrims are expected to travel to Rome during the Jubilee of 2025. In Rome and throughout Italy, preparations are well underway.

The Italian Foreign Minister recently met with Archbishop Gallagher, the Holy See's Secretary for Relations with States. In the meeting he assured that the Italian government will provide “all necessary assistance” to the Vatican for the Jubilee year, including visas for pilgrims.

Over two billion dollars have been allocated for public works projects throughout the city of Rome. Members of the Dicastery for Evangelization believe the improvements will extend beyond the Jubilee year.

Once the works are completed, we will live in a city that is even more beautiful, more welcoming, renewed in its artistic works and more easily enjoyed by all, because of the improved routes and new infrastructure that will be integrated into the fabric of the city.

The Vatican has also established the Pilgrims Center near St. Peter's Square as a reference point for tourists looking for information and organizational assistance.

Less than two years away, the Jubilee of Hope is the first ordinary jubilee since the year 2000.
