Another group of nuns have been discriminated against in Nicaragua under the regime of President Daniel Ortega.

In the middle of the night, the Nicaraguan police forcefully entered the home of the Sisters of the Poor Fraternity of Jesus Christ. They kidnapped a group of nuns and took them to an unknown location.

It is yet another example of the repression Catholics face under the Nicaraguan government within the last five years.

The Church has been one of the government's biggest targets. This has led to the closure of universities linked to the Church or organizations linked to the Church that were in charge of serving the citizens and the most vulnerable.

Since 2016, the Sisters of the Poor Fraternity of Jesus Christ have carried out their mission of providing food, clothing and spiritual support to those living on the streets in Nicaragua.
