Pope Francis held a private meeting with the family of WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, who is currently imprisoned in London and fighting extradition to the U.S. There, he faces a 175 year prison sentence for publishing classified military documents.
The Vatican did not officially release any details of what was discussed in the private meeting. But the wife of Julian Assange said the Pope's willingness to meet with her was evidence of his support for the family. She said the Pope is 'concerned' by her husband's suffering.
