July is traditionally light in terms of Pope Francis' agenda. Typically, the Pope does not hold any official or public meetings nor does he have any General Audiences.

In fact, the Holy See confirmed that they will resume on August 9 after the Pope's trip to Lisbon to participate in WYD. His doctors have cleared him for the trip following the operation he had on June 7.

POPE FRANCIS
I am ready. I already have everything with me because I'm looking forward to going. Some people think that because of my illness I cannot go, but the doctor told me that I can go, so I will be with you.

But Pope Francis is still expected to pray the Angelus on Sundays, starting July 2. This will be the only public appearance he will have all month. Although, the Pope may have private meetings at his home in Santa Marta.

Unlike his predecessors, Pope Francis prefers not to go to Castel Gandolfo, but to remain in his residence inside the Vatican.

The month of July will be a period of rest, allowing him to continue to recover from his abdominal surgery, where he had to have several stitches.

-It's good to see you recovered.
-I'm halfway there because I still have the stitches.

The month of vacation is when popes usually take the opportunity to write important documents since they do not have the large amounts of daily commitments.
