The Vatican did not distribute Pope Francis' words from his meeting with the members of the Aid Agencies for the Oriental Churches. During the audience, the Pope decided not to read his speech as he said he was feeling the effects of general anesthesia.

It has been almost a week since he was discharged from the hospital. The Pope has maintained a busy schedule following his surgery.

The same day he was discharged from the hospital, he held a meeting with bishops from South Africa.

On Sunday, he stood for the entire length of the Angelus.

During the week, he has had 17 official audiences. Among them were three meetings with government leaders.

On Tuesday he met with the President of Cuba.

-I love it when you come.

-Me too.

-Good to see you back on your feet.

-Halfway there because I still have stitches to go.

When asked about his health, Pope Francis replied that he was in recovery.

On Wednesday, he met with the President of Brazil who commented on his health.

Still alive, still alive.

On Thursday, he met with Kosovo's Prime Minister.

The Vatican confirmed that Pope Francis would not hold a General Audience as his surgeon advised him to rest, since the 86-year-old Pope underwent surgery involving general anesthesia.
