Sister Lucia, one of the three children who witnessed the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, has been declared Venerable.
Marco Chiesa, postulator of her cause of canonization, said that Sister Lucia faced many difficulties throughout her life.

She had to face many difficulties, because she was under the gaze of everyone and everyone was looking for her. They were looking for her either in a positive sense or to check that what she was saying was true, or to make fun of her, or to find any mistakes she might have made.
Being declared Venerable by the Church enables devotees to worship her image privately, but not in public. Sister Lucia's canonization process has been ongoing since 2008.
