The Vatican Press Office released updates on Pope Francis' progress following his three-hour abdominal surgery to repair a hernia that was causing him severe pain.
Doctors say the Pope had “a peaceful night” and is now in good condition, awake and breathing normally.
They added that Pope Francis expressed his appreciation for all the well-wishes he received and continues to ask for prayers.
