Released in 2010 and featuring the father and son acting duo Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez, the movie has reached millions across the globe.

On May 16, The Way will return to theaters for one night only across the United States. The re-release comes at an important time after the COVID-19 pandemic.

We've lost millions and millions of people. And I think we haven't properly grieved the loss of those human beings. And I think that this is a good time to try to figure out how we properly grieve that loss and the film explores that.
The story of The Way will not end with the re-release—a sequel is currently underway. But Estevez hopes that the one day release of the 2010 film will help both old and new audiences through the highs and lows of life.
