The Vatican hosts the exhibition, 'Women's Cry,' a series of photographs on display in the Bernini colonnade in St. Peter's Square. It features marginalized women in different parts of the world from the Amazon to Bangladesh, Turkey to Togo, Greece to the Ukrainian border.

Featuring 8 international photographers, these 26 images of women portray their challenges but also their strength, the discrimination they have suffered but also their resilience. In a word, their loneliness.
The World Union of Catholic Women's Organizations (WUCWO) wants to showcase women who are seemingly invisible in their society. Each of the girls and women featured has a story to tell.

How is it possible that so many women in the world today feel like the Church does not love them, does not stand by them as Jesus did?
What is certain is that this exhibition within the colonnade of St. Peter's Square is a sign of how the Church today does not leave them alone, how the Church today wants to embrace all women in the world, believers and non-believers alike, and make them visible.
The exhibition is part of the 'Emotions for change' project, an initiative inspired by the encyclical Fratteli Tutti and promoted by the Dicastery for Communication. One of the photographers included in the exhibition is Asaf Ud Daula, a National Geographic and Forbes award-winner.
