We agreed on practically nothing: not our children's education, not the way we spent our free time, not our household finances. Meaning we disagreed on everything, from the simplest to the most complicated.
They say the key to overcoming their crisis as a couple was the catechesis on marriage by Pope John Paul II. Magüi and José Luis met every Wednesday at dinner time to watch the Polish Pope's videos and listen to his explanations. They helped the couple find the source of their problem, which was not with each other, but within each of them.

If there is garbage inside you, you spread garbage. So we say that a marriage does not change through dialogue, it changes through conversion of the heart.
In marriage, the important thing is not to communicate but to communicate goodness.
After years of working on their relationship, they began to share their insights with their friends. They were so successful that they decided to create the Married Love Project, which helps couples understand the vocation of marriage. Now thousands of people participate in their retreats.
The name of the project comes from Pope John Paul II who spoke of the “beauty of marriage.” This has also been a theme for Pope Francis.

Today's catechesis is dedicated to the beauty of Christian marriage. It is not simply the beauty of the ceremony that takes place in church, but the beauty of the sacrament performed in the Church, which establishes a new family.

Since the retreats began in 2016, more than 20,000 people have participated. Now the Married Love Project is in Spain, England, Luxermbourg, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
