The International Association of Charity or AIC is a network that has been fighting against poverty for 400 years. In March, Tayde de Callatay was elected its new president. Since her arrival in 2009, she served as the Global Project Manager and General Manager of the company. Tayde describes teamwork as one of the hallmarks of the AIC.

TAYDE DE CALLATAY
President, International Charity Association
We have always worked as a team because it is part of our DNA as the AIC. But we realize that in order to address our current crises we have to encourage teamwork, networking and collaboration because these are essential to handling crises.

Callatay has worked in her native country of Belgium as well as in Mexico. These experiences have helped prepare her to lead this charitable organization. The AIC is now present in more than 50 countries and has over 100,000 volunteers. Callatay hopes to show Pope Francis their objectives for growth.

Personally, I really appreciate his messages, the way he communicates with us, his simplicity and the personal relationship he has always had with us.
It would be a great honor to be able to see him in a private audience. For the time being though, I intend to write to him and tell him all the news of our association. And also to share with him the joys and dreams of the thousands of AIC volunteers.

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, AIC has made the country one of their priorities through rescuing Ukrainians and helping refugees integrate into society by offering housing and employment. These efforts in Ukraine have not stopped their continued presence and support in other countries like Lebanon, Syria and Venezuela.
