This March 17-18 will mark the 10th edition of Pope Francis' Lenten prayer initiative, “24 Hours for the Lord.”

All dioceses worldwide will participate in this initiative in preparation for the Easter season. One Chruch in every dicoese will remain open all day to allow extra time for the faithful and pilgrims to make time for adoration and to have the opportunity for confession.

Traditionally, the Pope begins the initiative by going to confession. This tradition is meant to encourage the faithful to set time aside for God and others.

POPE FRANCIS
2018

Pause from this compulsion to a fast-paced life that scatters, divides and ultimately destroys time with family, with friends, with children, with grandparents, and time as a gift...time with God. See and contemplate the real face of Christ crucified.

This year, Pope Francis will preside over the “24 Hours” at 4:30pm at the parish of Santa Maria delle Grazie al Trionfale in Rome.
