Muslim, Jewish and Christian leaders participated in a congress at the Vatican focused on promoting ethical use of artificial intelligence.

During the meeting in the Apostolic Palace, Pope Francis touched on how important it is not to use algorithms to make every decision.

POPE FRANCIS
We can look at the example of those seeking asylum: it is not acceptable that the decision on the life and fate of a human being should be left to an algorithm.

Among those present were Al Mahfoudh Bin Bayyah, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, and Rabbi Eliezer Simha Weisz, member of the Council of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. Along with Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, the group pledged to promote an ethics of artificial intelligence.
