During his General Audience, Pope Francis greeted the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople on the feast day of St. Andrew, the patron saint of the Orthodox Church. In fact, a Vatican delegation was sent there as a sign of respect and esteem.
Pope Francis also continued his catechesis on discernment and explained how to distinguish between right and wrong. When making decisions, he suggested following the advice of St. Ignatius of Loyola. If there are feelings of unease, it could be a sign of the devil.
POPE FRANCIS
His style is to present himself in a twisted, disguised way. He starts with what we like most and then he draws us to himself, little by little. Evil sneaks in without the person realizing it. Over time, this subtle evil becomes apparent.
The Pope urged those present to make a daily examination of conscience to better understand themselves.
At the end of the audience, the Black Blues Brothers performed, bringing joy and warmth to a cold morning in Rome.
