Addressing members of the World Jewish Congress, Pope Francis mourned the complex situation facing humanity today. He urged those present to work together to achieve peace.
POPE FRANCIS
Our two faith communities are entrusted with the task of working to make the world more fraternal, fighting against inequalities and promoting greater justice, so that peace does not remain a promise from the other world, but is already a reality in this one. Yes, the road to peaceful coexistence begins with justice, which, together with truth, love and freedom, is one of the fundamental conditions for lasting peace in the world.
Once again, the Pope mentioned the war in Ukraine. He said that the way to stop it is to use fraternal dialogue and that Christians and Jews must do everything possible to achieve it.
The World Jewish Congress is an international organization present in more than 100 countries. Its work consists of representing Jewish communities and advocating on their behalf before governments, parliaments and leaders of other religious denominations.
