Pope Francis made the 39th trip of his pontificate to Bahrain. He dedicated four days to different issues. The Pope also participated in the closing ceremony of the 'Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence.' This is an interreligious dialogue in which the pontiff urged religious leaders to reach agreements to find real peace.
Francis was also able to be with the small Catholic community in the Church of the Sacred Heart, the first Catholic temple in the entire Persian Gulf area. Among the highlights of the trip, his private meeting with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar before the meeting with Muslims or the visit to a school where he was received by some 800 students of different nationalities and religions.
