The president of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and members of the Muslim Council of Elders welcome Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of al-Azhar to the mosque at the Sakhir Royal Palace.
Once inside, they greet different delegations. After reading of a passage from the Koran and another from the Bible, representatives from the Vatican and the Muslim Council speak.
Afterwards, the Pope gives a speech and greets members of the Council. The group brings experts together to deal with internal conflicts that trouble Muslim communities.
