In a meeting with members from the Academic Community of the Pontifical Theological Institute “John Paul II” for Marriage and the Family Sciences, Pope Francis described families as an integral part of every day life.

The family is not an ideology; it is a reality. And a family grows with the vitality of reality. But when ideologies come to explain or varnish the family, what happens is that they destroy everything.
The Pope also emphasized the role families play in the mission of the Church as being examples of combining Theology with concrete actions.
