Pope Francis met with the President of Honduras, Iris Xiomara Castro, at the Vatican.

Together they covered many topics, from the migrant caravans that travel to the United States, to poverty, as well as climate change and reconciliation in the country.

The president gave him several gifts.

Let me tell you that a friend wrote this book on me.

She also gave him a handmade wooden rosary and a sculpture of Our Lady. In return, the Pope gave her the significant texts of his pontificate.

It is the first meeting of the two leaders since Castro became president in January.
