After celebrating Mass in Kazakhstan, Pope Francis once again called for peace in Ukraine.

We cannot become accustomed to war nor resign ourselves to its inevitability. We help those who suffer and insist on true efforts to reach peace.
Pope Francis also spoke of the recent escalation in the ongoing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

I watch with concern that in these hours new flames of tensions have been lit in the Caucasus. We continue to pray so that in these lands, peaceful dialogue and harmony prevail.
They are two countries which Pope Francis has visited during his pontificate, he traveled to Armenia in June 2016, and Azerbaijan in October of the same year.
