She's known in virtually every corner of the world as a symbol of hope, charity, and love for the poorest of the poor.

Now, a new documentary tells the definitive story of the Albanian nun's life on the silver screen.

“Mother Teresa: No Greater Love,” premiered at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, before seminarians, members of the Missionaries of Charity, and special guests, including New York's Cardinal Timothy Dolan, and Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the series “The Chosen.”

With Mother Teresa's devotion, to the poor and to service, and to Christ, I think the viewer is engaged to explore that relationship with Christ if they have that relationship themselves, and if they don't to figure out what that means, and if they do have that relationship, how to go further, because I know that's how it made me feel.

The film, produced by the Knights of Columbus, aims to share the story of Mother Teresa with younger audiences 25 years after her death.

My children, many milennials, they have no lived memory of Mother Teresa, so I think just seeing the example of this woman who did so much, who because of her witness was vaulted onto a world stage, is really a beautiful thing, and I hope that inspires hearts of the young to in their own way emulate that.

Approximately 150 interviews were conducted across five continents with those who personally knew and worked alongside Mother Teresa.

One of the interviewees, the priest who promoted Mother Teresa's cause for sainthood in the Vatican, hopes that the film will promote her message of charity with audiences wherever they are.

Calcutta is everywhere, so who is someone in need? And even begin in your own family, someone who is lonely, someone who needs a smile, someone who needs a word of comfort, just start where you are, so hopefully people will be inspired to live Mother's message in their own circumstances.

Coming to theaters in the United States in early October, “Mother Teresa: No Greater Love” will share the life of this iconic woman with new generations, and give them a new perspective on what it means to love.
