During his Angelus greeting, Pope Francis reminded pilgrims of the importance of finding time to read the Bible, especially during summer vacation.
POPE FRANCIS
Brothers and sisters, let us take advantage of this summer vacation time to stop and listen to Jesus. Nowadays, it is increasingly difficult to find free time to meditate.
As the Gospel message for Sunday spoke regarding the need to hear the words of Christ every day, the Pope challenged those gathered in St. Peter's Square to start their days with the Bible.
POPE FRANCIS
Summertime can be valuable also for opening the Gospel and reading it slowly, without being in a hurry—a passage each day, a short passage from the Gospel. And this lets us enter into this dynamic of Jesus.
The Pope also welcomed young people present who are taking part in the Giffoni Film Festival and a formation course through Regnum Christi.
