POPE FRANCIS
I urge everyone to seek ever new convincing solutions with the help of the international community, through constructive dialogue and national reconciliation.
He then urged the pilgrims in St. Peter's Square not to forget about the ongoing war in Europe, and prayed for those suffering from its effects.
POPE FRANCIS
I renew my closeness to the Ukrainian people, who are daily tormented by the brutal attacks that the ordinary people are paying for.
May God show the way to put an end to this senseless war.
On “Sea Sunday,” Pope Francis also prayed for the world's seafarers, and entrusted them to Our Lady so that those trapped in war zones might return home safely.
