On Saturday, September 24, Pope Francis will travel to Assisi to participate in the event titled “The Economy of Francis,” where young people will present their ideas for creating an economy that further respects the dignity of each person.
It will be a short trip, since the Pope will leave the Vatican at 9 in the morning and return just after noon.
The following day will be more demanding. He will visit the Italian city of Matera to close to Italian National Eucharistic Congress, and will head out at 7am to celebrate Mass and meet with refugees before returning to Rome at 2 in the afternoon.
Despite his knee problems, Pope Francis continues to plan trips and will only decide to cancel them at the last minute if he finds that he cannot go. Most recently, he called off his planned trip to Africa. At the end of July, he will again travel abroad to Canada, and after the consistory in August he will visit the Italian city of L'Aquila.
