In July, the Pope's agenda is traditionally reduced and his official, public and private meetings are scaled back.

In fact, there are typically no general audiences and, for the moment, the only public event confirmed is a Mass with the Congolese community on July 3 in Rome.

Also on his agenda is a trip to Canada from July 24 to 30. The Vatican has already published in detail the meetings that Pope Francis will hold there, although it is not clear that the trip will happen.

Pope Francis's knee pains forced him to cancel his trip to Africa. At the end of June he showed signs of improvement, using a cane instead of a wheelchair. However, recently he has canceled some of his meetings at the Vatican because of the discomfort.

Yet he has not lost his sense of humor.

Don't get into mischief.

But his leg is still not improving. In any case, July will be an ideal time to avoid excessive strain on his knee. It is also a perfect month to write important documents and receive visitors more casually.

Unlike his predecessors, Pope Francis does not spend his summer in Castel Gandolfo outside Rome. He usually stays at his residence at Casa Santa Marta.
