Miguel Ángel and Aurora are delegates from the family life commission in the Spanish diocese of Asidonia-Jerez. Accompanied by a preist from their diocese, they came to Rome with their six children.
LUIS LÓPEZ-CUERVO
Diocese of Asidonia-Jerez (Spain)
I am here to be with the Pope and try to learn from other people's experiences. I want to bring my experience in Rome back to the diocese of Asidonia-Jerez.
The couple is closely following the events of the tenth World Meeting of Families, where they hope to learn a lot to take back to their home community.
MIGUEL ÁNGEL MARTÍNEZ
Family ministry, Diocese of Asidonia-Jerez (Spain)
You see how things are done in other places in the world, which otherwise would be very difficult. In the United States, in Africa. You can learn something from every comment. And it is true that there is always a way to renew the methods, the illusion, the desire to do other things, or to do them in a different way.
Their biggest question is how to teach the faith to children. Aurora prays very simple prayers with the young children and speaks to them more deeply about God after they receive their first Communion. She believes that with older children, what works is leading by example.
AURORA ABELEDO
Family Pastoral, Diocese of Asidonia-Jerez
In our faith, we live a normal, ordinary life, but other people have a different perspective. We are adapting ourselves and trying to figure out what God wants from each one of us at every moment.
Miguel Ángel, Aurora and Luis will spend a few more days in Rome and hope to continue learning during this 10th World Meeting of Families.
