One in every three dioceses around the world, and one in every eight priests benefit from assistance from Aid to the Church in Need International.
The pontifical foundation has just released its annual financial report for 2021, showing that it raised a record 138 million dollars to support persecuted and suffering Christians worldwide.
Its projects range from contributing to the building of churches and schools, to supporting religious formation and offering Mass stipends to priests in needs, over 52,000 of them in the past year.

Through this Mass stipend I fulfill my personal needs, and once my personal needs are met, I work more effectively in the parish, I serve them more enthusiastically.
While Africa was the region that received the most aid in 2021, the individual country most supported by Aid to the Church in Need is India, which was particularly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The organization stresses that Ukraine was among the countries that benefited most from Aid to the Church in Need funding 2021, and that their partnerships in the country positioned them well to provide immediate support to Christians when the war began.
Be it a war or a pandemic, Aid to the Church in Need had earmarked a more than 4.7 million dollar surplus from its 2021 budget to respond to whatever crisis impacts Christians around the world in 2022.
