The Pope postpones his trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. In a statement, the Holy See Press Office said that the Pope's doctors have advised against making the trip at the present moment.
They say that the Pope should not take the trip to avoid jeopardizing the results of his knee therapy.
The trip, which was scheduled to take place from July 2 to 7, will be postponed to a later date still to be determined. However, the trip to Canada at the end of July could still be possible.
For their part, the bishops of the Democratic Republic of Congo have released a video to communicate the news to the country and they wish the Pope a speedy recovery.
